inkdrops | ✿ Forty-Sixth Ink Drop ✿

[The morning of the 28th and following up to the 30th, anyone venturing out toward the farmlands may either see on be hailed by a petite and tiny figure. Upon closer inspection or investigation, they'll see that it's Miyabi - sized up and wearing a strange, new attire. She's always pushing up that feathered hat, and has a colorful whip tied to her hip, not her usual brushsword. Finally, instead of a pipe, she has a flute in her hand. Very strange.

She seems a bit distressed, given her pacing around the corrals and muttering to herself quickly and quietly. Anyone even remotely close by, or withing hearing distance, will be immediately flagged down. Why? Well, she has a request of you! And, if you help her out, she'll reward you generously! See, her prowess with the wilderness and its monstrous foes have ended up with her having a few...breeding couples. And she can't keep taking care of all the little cubs and kids and kits. So! Help her out with some work, and she might give you a pet!

From the 1st to the 2nd of May, Miyabi will have finally gotten all her work done and will be patrolling around the village, helping others with their own troubles and taking down a stray monster here and there. She'll be all over, on her own or with a few of her tamed beasties, looking for things to do, food to feed her animals, and new equipment. Hey, it takes a lot to care for these guys! She needs cash and equips and a lot of stuff! Being a beastmaster isn't exactly a walk in the forest here!

[OOC: Yep, Miyabi here is a beastmaster. She'll be NPC'd from the dates mentioned above and will be giving out small, baby animal pets. They won't attack monsters and stuff, but they'll pick up drops and stuff for you, maybe. Or, at the least, make you LOOK GOOD.

After that, she'll be wandering around looking for YOUR NPCs to do quests and stuff herself, since she's not part of a group or party.]

[It's been one of those experiments, ugh. Where people act like complete fools and spout nonsense left and right. He'd have liked to bury himself in his room, or in the mountains, or anywhere but outside right now, but the call of the hungry stomach cannot be ignored. And hunting just isn't an acceptable alternative when you live two minutes away from the grocery store.

Which is why, as Miyabi passes by with her little menagerie, Asch is outside and able to stop and stare. Which he does.

What in the world is she dressed as?]

[It's a shame that her animals are the first to spot Asch, lest he may have gone unseen by the girl. That hat of hers was insanely large, and kept flopping over her eyes, marring her vision. But, since one of her "friends" cries out at the newcomer, Miyabi just has to peek up and spies the redhead there. Oh! It's Asch!

She hurries over with the two animals in tow, the large, horned canine giving Asch an ominous look before Miyabi shoves its nose away and smiles at her friend. The other, a much smaller bird perches on a building nearby.]

Hi, Asch! [What's with that look.] ...Is everything all right?

[Asch eyes the beasts dubiously, one hand resting comfortably on his sword. Just in case. He has no way of knowing how this experiment has affected people, after all.]

That depends on how normal your situation feels to you right now.

[The larger of the two beasts eyes Asch right back, but doesn't make a move other than to scratch at an itch. He's a good boy, and only attacks when told to do so. Miyabi, though, seems perplexed by what Asch said, and raises a brow at him.]

What...what do you mean? I do this everyday, but not necessarily with the same beasts.

...Right. Of course you do.

[Yep, she's as messed up as the rest. And now he's somewhat at a loss; he has no explanation for his flummoxed stare other than "you're crazy right now".]

[Um. O...k-kay. Asch is acting really odd. Maybe he's upset? Did she do something wrong by him or something? Or did someone else make him mad and he's being his usual grumpy self at everyone around him? Both are very possible realities.]

You're acting very strange, Asch. Uhm, but...if you need anything from me or my friends, we'd be happy to help you out! [For some gold or items and stuff.]

[Uuugh, he so does not have the patience for this weirdness today.]

You think I'm going to make a request to your pet bird?

[Seriously? What's it going to do, shit on someone?

Maybe if he found a picture of Sync...]

[That pet bird is giving you the evil eye, Asch. Do you really want to tick off another intelligent, well trained animal that could easily give you a concussion and claw out your eye sockets? ...No, I didn't think so.]

Well, if you need anything, Oline can make deliveries, retrieve items, and she helps me attack monster. She and Gin, of course. [Puppy. |D Miyabi's going to scratch right under his chin now, yes. Puppyyy. ♥ Big, ferocious, deadly, adorable, fluffy puppy.] But I can't do anything for free, I'm sorry. I have to keep the ranch going, so I need gold and items as payment. I-I mean, if you do have a job for us...

[...wh... at...]

You realize there is no gold in Luceti, right?

[And what the heck is she talking about? What ranch?]

...Yes, there is. [And, to prove her point, Miyabi ~~open up her fan menu~~ removes a gold pouch from her bag and dumps a bunch of gold coins into her palm.]

Asch, are you sure you're all right? You're acting really weird.

[Oh yeah, he's the weird one. Great. And where the hell did she get that money...? Sigh, this is already kind of a hassle.]

I'm fine. I don't have gold, though, so don't expect anything out of me.

Ah...all right, it's fine. We all don't exactly need much gold right now. I can still help you with anything if you need it, though. My friends and I could do with a few monsters to fight.

[GOTTA LEVEL UP.]

[Hail, it be a weredeer!]

[ ...nah, just kidding. Chopper looks more or less like himself, just without his hat and wearing only a pair of mottled crimson shorts. Should Miyabi decide to visit the tree-cove-turned alchemy shop in the forest on May 2, she'll find that he's added smudges of troll fat and grease to his appearance, streaked in wide arcs across his scruffy fur. He's tending to a potion, carefully scraping some kind of powder into it.]

[Which, by the way, is a super delicate process and should not be disturbed for any reason. Yeeees.]

[Miyabi knows not to barge into Chopper's little makeshift apothecary - she saw how angry he got the first and second time - but seeing her new little friend all...messy and gross and stuff like that is strange to her. Especially since he tends to take greater care for her animal partners to make sure they're fit and healthy and looking some semblance of nice.

So as she peeks into the little cove, she frowns. Ugh, she's going to end up having to give you a bath, isn't she?]

Chopper? ...What is that? [She points. In his...general direction. Seriously, that is not a fashion statement, that is gross, and it probably smells.]

[He bristles in surprise, accidentally dropping the paper holding the powder, and it plops into mixture...which promptly turns green. Chopper stares into it for a moment, then glances up at Miyabi with a sigh.]

It was a stimulant for feline-based monsters. Kind of like catnip, but instead of just creating a pleasing feeling, it would have promoted social tendencies and encouraged docile behavior in populated environments.

[There's kind of an unspoken "I was going to give it to you" in there, but only kind of. Instead he'll grumble and smooth out his research notes.] Too much Naiad Salt in this batch...I think it'd cause a monster to curl up and cry uncontrollably until someone gave it a hug.
